A year on, the Switch 2 has settled into its stride. With a healthy exclusive lineup — Mario Kart World alone passed 14.7 million copies — and steady firmware updates, it is a more convincing buy than it was at launch.

Why it looks better now

The library has filled out, performance is stable, and price increases elsewhere — Valve recently raised Steam Deck prices — make the Switch 2 look reasonable for a mid-range handheld.

Switch 2 vs Switch OLED

  • Switch 2: far more power, backward compatible, bigger screen
  • Switch OLED: cheaper, gorgeous screen, great battery for lighter games

Who should buy

If you want Nintendo exclusives and modern performance, the Switch 2 is the pick. If you only play lighter titles and want the best screen-per-dollar, the OLED still holds up.
